Lives On The Bus

What began as a project about the Colorado Springs bus system quickly (immediately) derailed as the author Pema Baldwin began to speak to the people sitting next to him. It became about those random passengers on the bus—their overwhelming complexity and openness to another random passenger. Strangers unbecoming. The author ended up riding the bus for the rest of that day, collecting stories and speaking with passengers from all walks of life. This zine is a record of those conversations, and an intimate look into the lives that exist beneath the surface of introversion.

Bespoke illustrations were created for each interview.
