For the past 10 years ATX TV has been organizing the Austin Television Festival, the only fesitival of it’s kind specifically focused on television shows and the culture that surrounds them. This festival routinley draws tenss of thousands of visitors to Austin TX to help celebrate and showcase the past, present, and future of the television industry.

ATX TV is currently expanding their operations to create their own media studio focusing on podcasts and other digital media to further engage with fans and industry workers. This has spurred a need for a master brand that can be used across physical, digital, and web for both the festival , and their upcoming media ventures.

I was asked to propose an identity that was refined and universal, yet distinctly ‘Austin’. In order to accomplish this, the vernacular of television was used as inspiration, pulling typographic references from local TV station test screens, and creating a modular system inspired by the aesthetic of television scripts.
